Lake Hurwitz is an illustrator and concept artist born and currently located in the Bay Area of Northern California. His family moved to Maryland, where they stayed for 9 years.
When he was 14 years old, a friend showed Lake a portfolio belonging to a working concept artist; he was hooked instantly.
Lake elected to take some community college life drawing classes to get started. After turning 18, he attended Ringling College of Art and Design, eventually moving back to the Bay Area to attend the Safehouse Atelier (also known as the Next-gen Atelier and the Conceptart.org Atelier), studying with Carl Dobsky and the employees of the concept art giant Massive Black.
He has worked on many projects as a freelancer with several shipped titles, and currently works as a concept artist at GREE in San Francisco.
